This week we hear how summer started off in one our Vancouver programs. 

Vancouver kicked off our summer activities program with our Annual Family Barbeque and Award Ceremony. It was an eventful day full of mindfulness lessons, hikes, and park activities. We ended the evening with a family dinner. SA staff MC’ed the third annual end of the school year awards ceremony where each kid received a fancy card-stock certificate, a Hawaiian lei, and a paragraph describing their strengths and achievements. The ceremony began with standing applause for our foster families and ended with our management staff being recognized for their behind the scenes efforts to make all this possible. It was a fun, supportive, and positive event for the kids, our staff, and most importantly our foster families.

I, for one, am looking forward to hearing how the rest of their summer turned out!
